After searching for approximately 2 years, we stumbled upon the studio on a Saturday morning. My husband and oldest son went in to ask some questions and see what the program was all about. We were looking for a program that was a good fit for a very shy child. Their questions were answered and they were invited to stay and observe the class. Mark, the instructor, explained the program and asked our child what he thought and if he would like to try the floor exercises the following week. He was ready to try and couldn't wait until Monday. After his first class on the training floor, when he went to leave, he said, "See you Wednesday, Mark." Now, four years into the program, our son is very deeply embedded in the program and it has become a part of his life and way of thinking. Our two younger children are also a part of the program and they have also become one with the training and they use it for their daily decision making processes. Mark has a way of working with each individual child to bring out the best in them and who they are as a trainee and a person. He uses what he teaches to strengthen a student through mind, body, and spirit. We are very proud supporters of Mark and his program.

Tai Chi was an integral part of my recovery from a knee injury and subsequent surgery. After tearing my ACL and meniscus, I was expecting a 6 month recovery after surgery before returning to any sort of sport. However, I returned to Tai Chi just 6 weeks post-op and never looked back! The low impact aspect of Tai Chi made it safe for my knee and actually recommended by my Physical Therapist. Of course, my Tai Chi was not immediately elegant but the support offered in the studio by Mark and my peers was incredibly warming and comforting. I was gradually able to lower my stances and increase my stamina as the weeks passed, and I could visually track the muscle regrowth in my quadriceps and hamstring muscles. While I have never stopped practicing Tai Chi, I was thrilled when I was able to return to Kung Fu a month earlier than expected. I attribute this success, in large part, to the healing effects of Tai Chi.

Highly recommended! Mark is such a great instructor. He is a purist. There is no deviation from the authentic Chinese forms. The benefits I've derived after well over 4 years of training are priceless and have improved my health and abilities immeasurably, as I have overcome so many of the limitations that an inoperable torn rotator cuff and very arthritic knees had caused me. Far exceeded my expectations when I began training.
